About Me
Chief Operating Officer, Chief Commercialization Officer, and Member of the Board of Directors for DiscGenics, Inc.
I have been in the healthcare arena and specifically the medical device, biologics, and biopharma space since 1989. I always try to pursue excellence in how I perform my work, contribute to the company, and build up alliances with the staff and other stakeholder organizations.
I started out early in my career on the sales pathway. I evolved into sales management, marketing, business development, and then into general management in different roles, that had prepared me for executive leadership. One of the things I’ve gained through those experiences is a perspective for all different phases of a medical device or biopharma company, including R&D, clinical research, business development, marketing, sales/field distribution, finance, etc.
When I approached the DiscGenics opportunity I was confident about going into this startup, and really this adolescent market, because I knew I could apply skills and learning that I had obtained from each of the other businesses that I had participated in.
I got involved with DiscGenics because it was (and still is) such a disruptive therapy that could treat so many patients. I looked at it as a continuation of my career of developing advanced medical devices, biologics, and products that can help improve the standard of care and improve lives.
“When you’re building something with the mission of developing innovative technologies that would eliminate surgery and could help millions of people, it becomes a labor of love.”
Building a startup company is a significant time commitment, but when you’re building something with the mission of developing innovative technologies that would eliminate surgery and could help millions of people, it becomes a labor of love. You ultimately know that if you’re successful it will have an incredible impact on society.
